save the date postcards

I'm so stoked - we received our "save the date" postcards a couple days ago. I've addressed over half of them, and will be mailing them out tomorrow. I went for a quirky-semi-script hand lettering technique, using a brown pigment marker pen. This style's not perfect for everybody, but it's very us.

STD's

As Sara pointed out to me earlier, the initials for Save The Date are STD. Score one for Sara. Be sure to check your mailbox for your very own STD's coming at you vigorously next week.

Love,
KC

flower girl

This morning Brenna, Mia, Lauren and I went up to Formally Yours. I tried my gown on for them and we picked out the most awesome WaWa dress for Mia.

It's shown below in Ivory/Oak/Mocha with a silk shantung skirt. I opted for Ivory with a Lemon silk dupioni skirt and Sage ribbon. It's not a typical color combination, but it think it will be perfect with the location and my gown. And Brenna & Lauren backed me up, so it's partially their fault if it looks bad. Really though, thanks for coming girls!

engagement photos

today was an awesome day. lot's of news - i'll share a little now, and more later. we have our final date for the wedding : august 2nd. it's soon! so we'll be sending out our "save the dates" this week. we're leaving august 3rd for Estonia. (look it up on Google maps) much much more to come about that - for now, I'm going to plug our wedding photographer, Kyle Hale, real quick.

we shot our engagement photos with him in March. we went to six different locations and had a blast at all of them. we think the photos are totally rad & Kyle is such a real dude. if you have need of a photographer, I would very highly recommend him. if you don't have need of a photographer, I would very highly recommend checking his stuff out.

You can view all of our engagement photos here and here.

the wedding location hunt

is over. Well pretty much, anyway. After looking at a wide range of wedding venues, we've decided to get married & have our reception at my grandparents' place in Monroe, GA. We're still working out the details, but it's exciting to have something decided.

Despite the muddy, gloomy day yesterday, we took some shots:

Engagement Video

Many of you have seen & heard this, but just for good measure, here's the engagement story:

So it's my birthday, but I'm throwing KC a surprise party with a bunch of our friends & family. When we arrive, he thinks my family is trying to set him up to propose to me (after much pressure for many weeks). Once he realizes the party is for him, he reads the poster on the back of the door (you can see it below); the last line says "and that's why everyone chipped in to buy you a drumset." (And they did, it was amazing. 22 awesome people.) That's why he starts crying and hugs me.
While hugging me, I guess he decided that he couldn't think of a better time to propose. He happened to have the ring in his pocket to show my brother's fiance, Gloria, that night. He wasn't planning on proposing until January.

Anyway, it was an incredible night. The ring is gorgeous & I have the coolest fiance ever. We're super excited, and will be posting info about the wedding soon. We love you all!
